| Research Details: |
The research set out to track the distribution of soybean aphids in Ontario. As part of this research effort field studies were carried out to determine that there was no evidence of over wintering. The study examined genetic diversity and genetic information, which will enable monitoring of the movement of populations. These researchers also developed a methodology to associate major weather patterns with spread of the aphids. The information produced in this year’s and future research will provide leads for the Ontario soybean growers to better manage and predict aphid infestation. |
